Terms of Service for Accountify

Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using Accountify.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Accountify, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. Description of Service

Accountify is a peer-to-peer accountability platform that allows users to:

Create and accept daily accountability challenges
Set stakes (virtual coins or real money) for motivation
Track task completion and streaks
Settle payments directly with partners via UPI

3. Eligibility

To use Accountify, you must:

Be at least 18 years of age
Have a valid Google account
Have a valid UPI ID (for real money matches)
Be a resident of India (for UPI features)

4. Account Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

Maintaining the security of your account
All activities that occur under your account
Providing accurate information
Keeping your UPI ID up to date

5. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

Create fake accounts or impersonate others
Submit fraudulent task completions
Manipulate photos or evidence
Harass, threaten, or abuse other users
Use the app for illegal gambling or activities
Attempt to hack, reverse-engineer, or disrupt the service
Create matches solely to defraud other users

6. Virtual Currency (Coins)

Coins are virtual currency with no real-world monetary value
Coins cannot be purchased, sold, or exchanged for real money
Coins are used for gamification and leaderboard ranking only
We may adjust coin balances to maintain fair play

7. Real Money Settlements

7.1 Peer-to-Peer Nature

All real money payments occur directly between users via UPI
Accountify does NOT hold, process, or escrow funds
We are a facilitator, not a payment processor

7.2 User Responsibility

You are solely responsible for payments you agree to make
Disputes should be resolved directly with your match partner
We provide Honor Scores to help assess user reliability

7.3 No Guarantee

We do not guarantee that users will pay their debts
We are not liable for unpaid settlements
Use real money features at your own risk

7.4 Tax Responsibility

You are responsible for any tax implications of settlements
We do not provide tax advice or documentation

8. Pro Subscription

8.1 Pricing

Pro subscription costs ₹59/month or ₹499/year
Prices may change with notice

8.2 Billing

Subscriptions are billed through Google Play
Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled
Cancel anytime via Google Play Store settings

8.3 Refunds

Refund requests are handled by Google Play
We do not process refunds directly

8.4 Feature Changes

Pro features may change over time
We will notify subscribers of significant changes

9. User Content

9.1 Ownership

You retain ownership of content you submit (photos, descriptions)
You grant us a license to display and process your content for app functionality

9.2 Content Standards

Do not submit inappropriate, offensive, or illegal content
Do not submit content that infringes on others' rights
We may remove content that violates these Terms

9.3 AI Verification

Photos may be processed by AI to verify task completion
AI decisions can be overridden by partner review
We are not liable for AI verification errors

10. Intellectual Property

Accountify, its logo, and features are our intellectual property
You may not copy, modify, or distribute our app or content
User feedback may be used to improve the app without compensation

11. Privacy

Your use of Accountify is also governed by our Privacy Policy. By using the app, you consent to our data practices as described therein.

12. Disclaimers

12.1 "As Is" Service

Accountify is provided "as is" without warranties
We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service

12.2 No Professional Advice

Accountify is for personal accountability only
We do not provide fitness, financial, or health advice

12.3 Third-Party Services

We use Firebase, Google, and other third-party services
We are not responsible for third-party service failures

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
We are not liable for lost profits, data, or opportunities
We are not liable for user-to-user disputes or unpaid debts
Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the past 12 months

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Accountify from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

Your use of the app
Your violation of these Terms
Your disputes with other users
Your violation of any third-party rights

15. Termination

15.1 By You

You may delete your account at any time
Deletion does not cancel outstanding debts to other users

15.2 By Us

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms
We may discontinue the service with reasonable notice

16. Dispute Resolution

16.1 Between Users

User disputes should be resolved directly between parties
We may provide mediation tools but are not obligated to resolve disputes

16.2 With Accountify

Disputes with us will be resolved through arbitration
Arbitration will be conducted in Bangalore, India
You waive the right to participate in class actions

17. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in Bangalore, Karnataka.

18. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. We will notify users of material changes.

19. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect.
