Accountify ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Accountify mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information

Google Account Data: Name, email address, and profile picture (via Google Sign-In)
Username: Your chosen display name in the app

1.2 User-Generated Content

Task Submissions: Text descriptions and photos you submit as proof of task completion
Match Data: Challenges you create or accept, stakes, and outcomes

1.3 Financial Information

UPI ID: Your UPI address for peer-to-peer settlements (stored for payment facilitation only)
Transaction Records: Settlement history between you and your partners

1.4 Location Data

Gym Verification: GPS coordinates collected only when you submit gym-based task proof (with your permission)
Location data is used solely to verify gym attendance and is not tracked continuously

1.5 Device Information

Device type and operating system
App crash logs and performance data (via Firebase Crashlytics)

1.6 Usage Data

Task completion times (to optimize reminder timing for Pro users)
Feature usage patterns (to improve the app)

2. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

Authenticate your identity and maintain your account
Facilitate accountability matches between users
Process and track peer-to-peer payment settlements
Verify task completion (GPS for gym, AI for photos)
Send notifications and reminders
Calculate leaderboards, streaks, and badges
Improve app functionality and user experience
Provide customer support

3. Information Sharing

3.1 With Other Users

Your username, profile picture, and public stats are visible to other users
Your match partner can see your task submissions and completion status
Leaderboard rankings are public (unless you enable Private Mode)

3.2 With Third Parties

Firebase (Google): Authentication, database, storage, and analytics
Google Play: Subscription management for Pro features
AI Services: Photo submissions may be processed by AI for verification (no personal data sent)

3.3 We Do NOT

Sell your personal data to third parties
Share your UPI ID with anyone except your match partner during settlements
Access your payment app or bank account details

4. Data Storage and Security

All data is stored on Firebase (Google Cloud) servers
Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest
We implement Firebase Security Rules to prevent unauthorized access
Photos are stored in Firebase Storage with access restricted to match participants

5. Data Retention

Account Data: Retained until you delete your account
Match History: Retained for 12 months after match completion
Photos: Retained for 30 days after submission, then deleted
Location Data: Used only for verification, not stored long-term

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access: Request a copy of your data
Correction: Update inaccurate information via your profile
Deletion: Delete your account and associated data
Opt-out: Disable location permissions or notification settings

7. Children's Privacy

Accountify is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

8. Real Money Features

Accountify facilitates peer-to-peer payments via UPI
We do not hold, escrow, or process payments directly
All payments are made directly between users through their UPI apps
We are not responsible for payment disputes between users

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of significant changes via in-app notification or email. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
